Barford Craquele Tile of the week - Tips on Installation Part 1

Welcome back for some tips on the installation of the Barford Craquele Tile Range having purchased your tiles and materials for your project it is in no doubt that you check all your boxes of tiles.

Our advice is to then lay out all of your wall tiles on a clean surface to ensure that their are no damaged ones if so you may be able to use these for cuts later.

You then take the LTP Crackleglaze sealer and a clean sponge, You then dampen your sponge with the sealer and apply evenly over all the tiles. Once you have done this then we advise you leave them to dry, drying time depends on conditions.

Whilst waiting for the wall tiles to dry having applied the  LTP Crackleglaze sealer  you are then in a position to prime your walls with our wall primer from Mapei applying this evenly all over the area you are going to fix your wall tiles too.

Prior to commencing fixing of the wall tiles it is advised you mix all your tiles up to get an even distribution of colours this will help avoid any shading issues which can occur by just working out of one box at a time.

Now ready for tiling assuming you have all your tiling tools, for which we will cover in another post, you mark out the walls for your start position select the notched trowel you are going to apply your Mapei      wall tile adhesive   and apply no more than a area of  1 Sqm, take your first wall tile and with a twisting action press the tile onto the bed of Mapei wall tile adhesive ensuring a good bond is adhered.

Next you repeat this process for your next wall tile and so on, these tiles have a irregular edge to them we recommend you use 3 - 4 mm Tile spacers. Once you have finished the first course of wall tiles repeat the process on the next course of wall tiles until your tiling is complete.
