New Porcelain Tile Range

Tiles & Ceramics have recently added a new tile range to their collection. The new Porcelain Floor Tile is called the Stonehenge Range which is quite a mid range product.

Our general manager Dave is very excited about promoting these products to its retail customers, their are four tiles within the range the Stonehenge Biscuit, Stonehenge Caramel, Stonehenge Cendre and the Stonehenge Ivory.

Commenting earlier Dave stated that by asking our customers for feedback on the samples it was very positive and through the showroom, orders have now started to filter in, we are very excited about this and we know anyone who purchases this product will receive years of satisfaction from a quality product.

To view this range of tiles then please visit http://tilesandceramics.co.uk/floor-tiles/stonehenge-range.html on our website, or contact us on 01722 444922.

Porcelain or Ceramic Tiles, what is the difference?

Dear Readers,

In this blog we will be discussing the difference between the actual materials to help you make up your mind and make the right decision for your home.

Porcelain

Porcelain tiles are made by the dust pressed method from Porcelain clay's this means the tile is denser and more durable than Ceramic tiles. The finish is a finer grained and smoother with sharply formed faces.

Because of the above you will find Porcelain tiles are more versatile than Ceramic's as they are good for light and heavy traffic.

Full body porcelain tiles carry the color and pattern through the entire thickness of the tile.  Porcelain tiles are usually more expensive than Ceramic.

Ceramic

Ceramic Tiles are also known as non-porcelain tiles.  Ceramic tiles are generally made from red or white clay mixtures and are finished with a durable glaze.  The glaze carries the color and pattern of the finished tile, however, tile dyes can be used in the coloring.

Ceramic tiles can be easier to work with as they are softer and easier to cut than Porcelain. Due to this they are more prone to wear and are usually suitable for very light to moderate traffic.

Your choice should be determined by where you are tiling and of course budget.  We have uploaded more tiles to choose from in both Ceramic and Porcelain, if you require expert advise please call us on 01722 444922 or visit www.tilesandceramics.co.uk
